Emerald City Champ 2023, NEW FORMAT, MULTIDAY QUALIFIERS, TOP 32 Sunday finals, 250% IFPA VALUE!

Welcome Back to Emerald City Cup, for the 7th edition, aligned with IFPA changes for 2023 we are changing our format, potential 116 WPPR points for 1st place (based on 2022 numbers with new format).

Taken into account previous event feedback, we will now have one final, with 32 players (with 64 or more players else 24 players finals). Anyone in the 32 players can win the event!

The event will now be held across multiple days, qualifiers will run starting Friday March 3rd until Sunday 5th. Players will compete by playing on 6 machines, with their top 2 scores per machines counting. Qualifying will be open:
Friday 3rd: 5-11PM
Saturday 4th: 1-11PM
Sunday 5th: 12-4PM

Top 32 players at the end of the qualifiers will face off in a group matchplay finals. 4 players per group, 3 games per round, score 4/2/10, top 2 players at the end of the round moves on. The players will have choices of a bank of 3 games.

No pre-registration again, we are keeping it simple, pay at the door, first come first serve. With the open format type, there is no restriction, just make sure you have enough time to play your 12 games minimum.

Entry fee is $20 (+ game coin drop) for your 12 entries. You can only rebuy 4 more tries for $20 to reduce the risk of long queues so make sure to make your 12 entries count!

We are glad to announce that we are back at THE ICE BOX for 2023.
Taken into account previous event feedback, we will now have one final, with 32 players (with 64 or more players else 24 players finals). Anyone in the 32 players can win the event!
The event will now be held across multiple days, qualifiers will run starting Friday March 3rd until Sunday 5th. Players will compete by playing on 6 machines, with their top 2 scores per machines counting. Qualifying will be open:

No new games started after end time listed above, ongoing games can be completed.

No pre-registration required! We are keeping it simple, just pay at the door, first come first serve (max 140 players). With the open unlimited format type, there is no restriction, just make sure you have enough time to play at least your first 12 games.
Entry fee is $20 (+ game coin drop) for your first 12 games. You can rebuy 4 games for $20 as often as you would like.
If players are tied at the end of the qualifying of tie breaker will be based on players with most 1st place score, then most 2nd place score and so on. If still tied, a one-game tie-breaker will be played.
For the finals top seed of group (based on qualifying seed) can chose bank of game or position.
If players are tied at the end of a playoff round, the tie breaker will be decided by higher number of 1st place then 2nd, 3rd and 4th in this playoff round. If players are still tied a full game tie breaker will be played on the “old” game from their round bank.
For the final 4, any tie breaker will be broken with a full game tie breaker that will be played on the “old” game from their round bank.
Playoff rounds will begin immediately after qualifying end on Sunday around 4PM. Any top 32 player missing by 4:15pm will be skipped and next alternate will play the finals.
Entry fee paid back in full as cash prizes following below breakdown*:
1st = 24% + Trophy
2nd = 18%
3rd = 13%
4th = 9%
5th to 8th each = 5% (20% total)
9th to 16th each = 2% (16% total)
17th to 32th = $20
Estimated winner prize with 100 players attendance: $400 plus trophy.
*Prize rounded up/down, -$320 for 17th-32nd, IFPA fee sponsored by ICE BOX ARCADE.
