Seattle Repeals Pinball Tax

The Seattle City Council repeals the
requirement for an amusement device license

Earlier this month the local City Council passed legistration getting rid of the license that forced businesses to pay for each device that required payment to play. This was an annual fee that included devices such as pool tables, jukeboxes, arcade games and (of course) pinball machines. The license was repealled as a way to help downtown businesses attract more foot traffic and customers, which still haven’t recovered from the 2020 lock down.
